GoFundMe to Support Ukrainian Publishing
Over the last few months Russia has bombed warehouses containing millions of books in Ukraine resulting in the destruction of books for the new school and university terms.
The Association of University Presses (AUP) has created this GoFundMe effort in hopes of assisting publishers in Ukraine and invite all to contribute as they are able. Please consider making a small donation. Each single donation, no matter the size, indicates to our friends in Ukraine that we still care about them
Donations will be used as follows:
Send three Ukrainian publishers to the Frankfurt Book Fair in October, especially to represent the situation in scholarly publishing.
Donate to the Ukrainian Book Institute as it persists in developing the country’s book industry and making Ukrainian literature more accessible in Ukraine and more visible to the world under wartime conditions and help reprint the necessary books as soon as possible.
As the UBI states, “Even in turbulent times, the importance of culture and books in particular should never be underestimated. Our actions are a testament to the unwavering strength of literature in the face of adversity.”
